My path

From the Danube to Lake Zurich

I grew up in Krems on the Danube, in the middle of the Wachau valley, between vineyards and the river. Even then I was sure there was more behind the next hill. That is exactly where it pulled me, always a little further west: university and first working years in Innsbruck, then projects across Austria, Poland and Liechtenstein.

Work in Liechtenstein brought me to Switzerland, where I live on Lake Zurich today and run an industrial SME. In 2019 I took an eight-month break and travelled: Sri Lanka, the Caribbean, North America. Two things stayed with me: I need less than I thought. And with a bit of distance, you see much more clearly what really counts in business.

What drives me

Three constants

  • Technology, applied

    Putting new tools to real use, especially AI, instead of just talking about them. First a small experiment, then everyday work.

  • Endurance

    Road cycling, running, triathlon. Over long distances you learn fast that staying with it beats raw talent.

  • Being on the move

    From the Danube to Lake Zurich, with detours across three continents. I learn the most when I'm on the move.
